Miami Maternity Photographer

As a Miami maternity photographer, this ethereal session on the beach was a beautiful way for Mom & Dad to celebrate the upcoming arrival of their sweet bundle. I don’t talk about it quite enough, but oftentimes so many of my wedding clients will come to me asking whether I offer maternity photography or family photography, and the answer is yes. It’s such an honor getting to know my couples during the wedding planning process. But, when they return and I get to see their family grow and expand with love, it’s truly something special.

Maternity Pictures Miami

When I work with families on maternity pictures in Miami, we typically select a location for their photoshoot that is outdoors. For the session featured below, we decided to meet at the beach during sunrise. Though it may be early, scheduling your maternity pictures in Miami at this time of day ensures a few key elements. First, we will more than likely have the entire beach to ourselves. This means there are no beachgoers looking on as you celebrate this special moment centered around your baby. Second, sunrise photography, especially at a stunning beach in Miami, produces some of the most amazing sunlight possible. In photography, we call this golden hour. It’s the time of day when the golden rays of the sun drench the landscape around you and create a breathtaking scene for your maternity pictures. Lastly, scheduling a sunrise session gives you the rest of the day to enjoy each other's company with a day date or a mini ‘babymoon’. 

Undoubtedly, the beach is an obvious choice for maternity pictures in Miami. But, if you are not a fan of walking in the sand or against the waves of the shoreline, there are plenty of other outdoor locations that I can recommend for your session. If your goal for the photoshoot is to be left with photos that are more editorial in nature, we can always explore the landscape of the city. If you have other children that you’d like to include in your session, local parks are an equally wonderful option for maternity pictures in Miami. 

When to Schedule Your Session

Wondering when to work with your Miami maternity photographer? Typically anywhere right after your first trimester, up to 34 weeks is ideal. However, as a Mom myself, I understand that anything can arise during pregnancy, so the sooner you can schedule your maternity photos, the better. All too often, towards the final trimester, Moms are so ready to meet their sweet baby and not always feeling like the best version of themselves. While the rest of the world may be telling you that you are glowing and look beautiful, you may feel anything but. My goal when working with expectant moms is to focus on drawing out the beauty that the rest of the world sees. We will work on poses that flatter your adorable baby bump while ensuring your comfort level every step of the way. 

Prior to your session, select a maternity gown that reflects your own personal style while honoring the location we’ve chosen. I also highly recommend that you exfoliate and hydrate your skin in advance. Professional hair and makeup are by no means required. But, if you dream of hanging these photos on the wall of your baby’s nursery, I do recommend taking the extra step and hiring a professional hair and makeup artist to work with you on the morning of your shoot. To see more of my work as a Miami maternity photographer, you can scroll through the photos below.

Maternity Session at Stardust Studios | Maternity Photographer in Miami

This maternity session at Stardust Studios in Miami is a story in the making!

Do you guys remember Diana and Juan from their engagement session at Vizcaya? Their engagement session was one of the top viewed blog posts of the year! And if you didn’t catch their engagement session, maybe you caught a peek of their wedding day at The Ancient Spanish Monastery? If you missed that one too, let me catch you up to speed! Diana and Juan are insanely in love, and they are pretty much right in the middle of their Happily Ever After. And all of my blog readers (hi there!) are crazy about them and totally invested in their story. So naturally, when they reached out to me to capture the next milestone in their lives together, I practically jumped for joy. It’s official, Diana and Juan are about to welcome a sweet baby into the world together! It’s been so amazing to watch their story happen in real-time and to celebrate them here on the blog with all of you!

As expected, Diana showed up to her maternity session looking absolutely flawless. As the owner of Power House Beauty, this glowing mom-to-be did her own hair and makeup for the shoot! Knowing what an amazing job she does when she works with her clients, I wouldn’t have hoped for anything less. She was the epitome of maternal grace, and me and my camera snapped up every single moment. Of course, Juan came along to the shoot too! I love it when Dads come along to maternity photoshoots, don’t you? This Miami Wedding Photographer is super excited to share a maternity photography session with you on the blog today!

Although I have an insane love for documenting wedding days through Dipp Photography, every once in a while, a special couple will make their way into my life and once their wedding day is over, they will invite me back into their lives over and over to document those extra big beautiful moments! Stacy & Israel are a former bride and groom of mine who are now expecting a baby girl. They reached out to me to document this joyous occasion of growing their family together and I couldn’t be more thrilled to share their maternity photography session with you!

The day of the shoot, we met at an abandoned field in Kendall to capture those moments with the soon to be family of 3. This location was perfect to capture Stacy’s maternity photography session in the Miami area because the couple brought along pink smoke bombs in celebration of the occasion! Smoke bombs are a great addition to lifestyle and maternity photography and it is an easy way to add some color into your shoot without having to worry about prop rentals. It’s also important to make sure that you are in wide open space like the one we chose for this shoot, for safety purposes. Smoke bomb photography along with golden hour… now that is where we make some real magic happen!!

We were able to catch that gorgeous light, tender moments between mom & dad, and all the beautiful billowing light pink smoke in celebration of the impending arrival of their Stacy & Israel’s baby girl.

This fantastic and spunky couple took us to explore where peaches are the sweetest, Savannah, Georgia!
