Rusty Pelican Wedding

This Rusty Pelican Wedding was a celebration of the love that Laura and Luis share!

We always say what a special connection we have to our couples. Whether they are friends, family members, or friends who become family members, working side by side with them on the most important day of their lives creates an unshakable bond. In fact, Laura and Luis are related to a close friend of ours who also works in the wedding industry. Isn’t life so funny sometimes? He offered our name to Laura and Luis and asked if we would capture every cherished moment of their best day ever. Our answer was, of course, was a resounding yes!

To get ready for their wedding, Laura and Luis booked suites at the nearby Ritz-Carlton Key Biscayne. The Ritz-Carlton provides amazing proximity to the Rusty Pelican, but also a stunning backdrop for getting ready photos and a first look. Laura’s bridal style was absolutely timeless and the camera loved her! Her wedding dress was full of embroidered details, giving every photo a different perspective of her gorgeous gown. In addition to her classic wedding day attire, Laura carried a sleek bouquet filled with white Cala Lillies. Attached to the stems was a pendant with a photo of her father. It was a beautiful way to honor her father’s presence on her wedding day.

One thing is for sure, hosting a Rusty Pelican Wedding comes with idyllic views of Key Biscayne. You and your guests can enjoy these views during your ceremony and reception, but what I love most about the skyline in the backdrop is working with my couples on sunset portraits. I always find a way to sneak them out, just for a quick minute, as the sun is setting over the horizon. It’s a beautiful way to end the night while capturing the beauty of their breathtaking setting.

Laura and Luis’s wedding reception at the Rusty Pelican was done in a color palette of creamy white with gold details. It was romantic meets chic with lush florals and romantic candlelight. They treated their guests to live entertainment and topped off the night with a delectable three-tier wedding cake.
